Day 101 – 120

Project 365-2015: Day 120 – Kitty Cuddles.
Ootchy Mootchy cat coming in for some pats- it’s very hard to take photos of animals when they insist on hurrying straight over to you in the hopes of treats and hugs.

Project 365-2015: Day 119 – Indescribable.
It’s a spiderweb with the dew on it, but that just doesn’t begin to describe how beautiful this is. Sometimes nature really is extraordinary.

Project 365-2015: Day 117 – Valley Colours.
More autumn colour for today.

Project 365-2015: Day 116 – A Good Day for Football.
Or not. There was a lot of rain during Nicholai’s game today. I was quite dry and cosy in the car (hence this picture, which was my view of the game!) but I did feel bad for my boy out there getting so wet! They also lost, which was probably a bit of added insult.

Project 365-2015: Day 115 – Anzac Day.
The children marching with Pop (who served in Vietnam) in the town Anzac day parade. They’re all wearing t-shirts commemorating 100 years of family involvement in international conflicts. Six names and seven arenas of war – Western Front, Palestine, Tobruk, Kokoda, Borneo, Vietnam, Iraq.

Project 365-2015: Day 114 – Fields of Gold.
One of the vineyards we pass on the drive to and from school, putting on a show with its autumn colours. It won’t last long, but I love seeing them so golden and beautiful while it does.

Project 365-2015: Day 113 – Fuzzy Purple.
I picked these flowers at school today. As always, I don’t know what they are (I am clearly not a botanist) but I just thought the colour was so beautiful, and they’re just the softest, most velvety feeling blooms and leaves.

Project 365-2015: Day 112 – Raceday.
A shot of the entrance to a racecourse today. The closed gate and lack of people shows clearly that it actually is not raceday, but I’ve always liked the tree-lined road down to the stands and stables and it was lovely today with the autumn colours.

Project 365-2015: Day 111 – Spread Your Wings.
I had a very relaxing time watching this duck at the lake today. He was just swimming along by himself, continually ducking under the water to look for food, and then for some reason he just sat up and flapped his wings and then sat back down again.

Project 364-2015: Day 110 – Autumn Playtime.
I had a beautiful afternoon with the three younger children, playing with the fallen leaves in the park. It was so fun and funny to help bury them in leaves and then run away screaming as the leaf covered person came lurching up like a monster. Jericho and Soren also stuffed their jumpers full of leaves and played sumo wrestling- it was hilarious watching Jericho give Soren the big belly and send him reeling backwards into a pile of leaves.
Bella mira. That’s what one of my tattoos says – beautiful wonderful. I had it written on my skin as a reminder of what I want my life to be, and I really saw it today.

Project 365-2015: Day 109 – After the Rain.
I love this one. I love the colours, and the way the raindrops shine, and the way it felt to be outside in some late afternoon sunshine after a day of pouring rain.

Project 365-2015: Day 108 – Dancing on top of the world.
This is one of those photos that I look at and feel my heart get bigger. That’s my baby up there, my Scooby boy, who is so brave and bold and beautiful. From the moment he was born, outside in the sunshine, he has taken on the world in his own inimitable style and I hope that he will keep his courage and spirit of adventure for his whole life. The world’s a big place…be dauntless as you face it sunshine baby.

Project 365-2015: Day 107 – The Valley Changes Colour.
I love where I live. I love driving along in autumn and seeing all the vines turning gold, with the odd red one here or there, just like I love driving along in spring and seeing the bare brown paddocks turning bright green with the new growing leaves.

Project 365-2015: Day 106 – Red.
I love this beautiful flower. I picked it at school, where the garden seems to be flourishing. The grass is not, our increasing student population have worn the grass away to bare dirt, but all the trees and plants and the vegetable garden are thriving.

Project 365-2015: Day 105 – A Walk in the Park

Project 365-2015: Day 104 – Godzilla.
Godzilla, tasting the air while Jericho was holding him today. He’s doing well. I’m currently eating my way through four litres of ice cream so I can use the plastic container to make him a hibernation home…I know, it’s a hard job taking care of pets sometimes, but I’m willing to make the sacrifice.

Project 365-2015: Day 103 – Back to School.
Kids back to school means back in the car to drive there twice a day!

Project 365-2015: Day 102 – Autumn Gold.
We drove up to Emerald for Nicholai’s football today. It was a beautiful drive through the hills, with all the green native plants and then some beautiful colour changing leaves growing randomly in between.

Project 365-2015: Day 101 – Everything is Awesome.
We went to the Brickman Experience today and it was amazing! A whole exhibition of Lego constructions like I’ve never seen before- I can’t believe the skill of the builder. The kids loved it too. If you want your eight year old son to forgive you for everything you’ve ever done to him, take him to a Lego exhibition, since Jericho told me seriously as we left, “Taking me here is the best thing you’ve ever done in my whole life.”
