Project 365-2015: Day 138 – Peekaboo!
It’s Godzilla, peeking out of what we call his Hibernation Hut. Blue tongue lizards living outside will hibernate during the cold months, but they needs a weatherproof place to do it in. We used an empty ice cream container (which I bought for this reason and then had to eat all the ice cream…so difficult.) and cut a circle out of it. I used electrical tape to smooth the sharp plastic edges so that Godzilla wouldn’t hurt himself on it, and then filled it with straw. For ages he wouldn’t go in, so I started putting him in it every time we handled him, and now he’s always curling up inside during the cold days.
